A winning dawg

I've been so busy over the past few weeks that I've neglected posting any new work. Here is one I had a day to finish for the GA Magazine. Just a little spot for the 'upfront' section.

I've looked (in awe) at Jack Davis' bulldog illos all my life....so when I have to draw one, I realize how much mine look like his. I remember my friends in 3rd grade asking me to draw and redraw a J.Davis illo of the bulldog busting through his doghouse.

Even though I liked the way the spot turned out, it's a little too 'Davis' for me. I'll have to work on that.
