Catfish Blues

For the recent Illustration Friday, I was unsure of what I wanted to do until I heard this wonderful blues song entitled, "Catfish Blues" by Robert Petway
The lyrics went something like this:
Well, if I were a catfish, mama
I says, swimmin' deep down in the blue sea
Have these girls now, sweet mama
Settin' out, settin' out hooks for po' me.
Here's a little trivia I just read about the song. Petway didn't write the song (they verses changed from artist to artist), but Petway was the earliest musician to record it (1941). Later, Muddy Waters did a version and renamed it, "Rolling Stone". Welp...guess which band a few decades later named their group after that song.
So...in a round 'bout way...Robert Petway help name the Rolling Stones. Hendrix did a nice version of the song too.
over and out!

Absolutely wonderful illustration. Your style is just the coolest. Nice tribute to the songwriter and the song!
Very nice indeed! I like those in which each time I look at them I see something different. Was this a combo with Freehand Illustration and Photoshop?
