Worst job in USA?

With the recent news that Andrew Card, the Chief of Staff, is resigning, NPR had an interview with a former Chief of Staff under Clinton. It said how he could get phone calls 24/7 about any topic. He was usually the first person to talk to the president after a crisis, etc.etc. The chief of staff is responsible for managing the president's schedule and ensuring that the best political and policy advice reaches his ears.
Then I thought how TERRIBLE it would be to be the Chief of Staff under Bush. I figured it would be something like this illo. Bush would make the chief 'spring' into action at any event.

BTW, this is for Illustration Friday (word: spring). I didn't have time to color it today, but may in the future.

I like the story behind the illustration. Very nice.

How are you liking Kansas compared to where you're from?

I'm originally from KS now living in Minnesota. My parents and some other relatives still live in various towns in KS. Going there for spring break next week, as a matter of fact.

I guess Bill Clinton called his Chief of Staff and said "Find me an intern. I likes 'em big."

I like how you made Bush look like a Roman Emperor. If the Chief of Staff is in charge of those things, he was either a horrible CoS or the Bush Administration is using him as a scape goat for all the issues that the President apparently knew nothing about.

Great job!

Hello Everyone and thanks for leaving a comment.

sally: Thank you and I do like KS a lot! Of course the obvious difference is the weather which I rarely saw in GA. Other than that, not much different!! (I like the KS weather better!)

brock: All I use is a quill pen, sumi brush and a large bottle of Higgins (waterproof) ink. You can buy large bottles (32oz) online. Usually I go to dickblick.com

jstarley: You're probably right....

Lou: Thanks and I agree w/ a lot of that!

It's very well known that this president doesn't like to hear bad news from anyone on his staff. That make this job especially daunting. How do you sugar-coat Katrina, suicide bombings, etc?

Sally: I meant to say I rarely saw SNOW (not 'weather') in GA. There was plenty of 'weather' in GA...usually of the VERY HOT and HUMID variety...not the frozen kind.

sorry 'bout that!

I love this concept, though I tend to think that anyone who willingly works for Bush gets what he deserves...
