A great illustration forum is The Drawing Board (http://drawingboard.org/). For one of their ongoing threads, they have a 'draw the artist' topic. Illustrators post their pics then other folks give their take. I haven't gotten brave enough to post my ugly 'mug' on the site, but I did attempt my first portraits. I have no idea who these illustrators are, but I think I did them justice.
The guy had an awesome hat w/ the Soviet Hammer/sickle.

The coffee shop sketches are the best drawings here & the portraits work well with the Steadman-esque borders & spatter.
I think you should do portrait dedicated to Larry. You could entitle it Bull-Chat!
