Illustration Friday (surprise)

We all do dumb things as kids. Well, maybe it's less of being 'dumb' than just 'ignorant' by not having learned the world around us? NAH! Who am I kidding....I did some DUMB stuff and this Illustration Friday illustrates one episode that makes me laugh when I think back.
My grandmother had a garden where she grew different vegetables - peas, bell peppers, squash, and RED HOT peppers! I'm pretty sure I was told they were hot, but I wanted to find out HOW hot. I plucked one into my mouth and learned fast! I just remember running back home crying the entire way and when arriving, scaring my mom with my balling, then going straight to the sink and putting my head under the faucet. Fun times!!!!

Beautiful linework. I can't tell how the colour's done, though ... pencil crayon? Anyways, great job.
Haha! very stylish illo!
You never forget that first enouter with a hot pepper. Great illo.
That is called super spicy candy. I had a friend who ate one and then rubbed his eye-well a long story short he ended up in the hospital. Natchos will never be the same! Great work. Cheers!
All of us have our own hot pepper stories. Good work!
Hot pepper stories...good times. I also remember that we didn't have anything else to drink in the 'fridge (or this could've been added by my imagination over the years). Either way, I stayed under the sink for a long time.
jeope - it's done with ink, watercolor and colored pencils. I don't consider myself good with any so I have to use 'em all!
Thanks everyone!
This is a fine illustration - your technique is so good! I'm laughing because my brother and I did the same thing whene we were kids...those pretty red things looked so enticing...whooo...
