Honest Abe

I asked my friend Randy, a political junky, to 'art direct' me..give me a direction to help me practice my political illos. He threw out the quote from Lincoln, "A house divided against itself cannot stand." I thought it was very appropriate considering the back 'n forth retoric we hear from politicians. Thanks Randy!

Thanks J. I love your illustration. As for the quote, fhqwhgads is right in noting that the quote originally come from the Bible. The whole reason I credited Lincoln for these wonderful words is because I've been watching the whole dustup in Texas between the pro-war and anti-war folks and thought that the man who brought this nation back together after four years of Civil War had a more historic pull on the American public. No matter what our feelings are about the war, we are all Americans and should rally behind our troops to ensure what happened in Vietnam never happens again. So think about Lincoln's call for us to stay united when you watch the news.
